On the heels of releasing her debut album FREE, recording artist Beth Griffith performs music from FREE with two special performances in Beverly Hills, California at the annual tribute to ‘Heroes and Legends (HAL) Awards Scholarship Gala celebrating 28 years. The two-day weekend is Saturday, September 23rd at Hard Rock Café Hollywood for the ‘Legends of Souls Concert’ at 8:00p. Then on Sunday, September 24th Beth performs a very special tribute to Paul Riser who earned the title of ‘Motown’s Brilliant Arranger.’ He was one of the key creative master minds behind ‘The Sound of Young America.’
Beth recently released her highly anticipated debut album, FREE on the television morning news show called, ‘Live In The D’ which airs on WDIV Channel 4. What seemed like a dream finally realized for Detroit recording artist Beth Griffith, is actually a remarkable tribute to her passion, strong work-ethic and God-given talent.

The HAL Awards creator is celebrated songwriter, and Motown Alumna, Janie Bradford. She is dedicated to awarding scholarships to performing arts students who have maintained at least a 2.0 grade average and who show promise in the area of performing arts. Bradford says, “The scholarships provide the financial assistance these students need to continue their education. We leverage celebrities from across the globe to inspire and mentor these students to follow their dreams. It’s a star-studded Hollywood event with purpose.”

In 2103, Beth was honored to represent her father, Johnny Griffith as the legendary Motown Funk Brothers received their star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Some of the celebrities in attendance were Stevie Wonder and Ray Parker Jr. They joined surviving Funk Brothers – Jack Ashford, Joe Messina and Eddie Willis in the star-studded ceremony.
The Funk Brothers was a 13-member studio band of highly-talented musicians. Johnny Griffith is noted as one of the few classically trained musicians who worked at Motown with music degrees from Wayne State University and University of Detroit Mercy. “Johnny had a very beautiful touch, very melodic…. especially when he did a ballad, this guy was just incredible,” said Jack Ashford.
